wiogi, robin farringtonI’m Project Manager of the Western Indian Ocean Governance Initiative (WIOGI), based in Nairobi with my family since 2020. I have worked for GIZ for nearly 12 years in Germany and Zambia before Kenya. Prior to GIZ, I worked in WWF, private sector consultancy and the water industry in the UK.

Over the last 13 years, I have focused on developing and supporting partnerships for natural resources governance and stewardship. I am convinced that we can only achieve sustainable development if we strengthen the way in which the public sector, private sector and civil society collaborate, and see supporting this as a key role for an organisation like GIZ. I am especially passionate about conserving the coasts and oceans upon which we all depend and am therefore delighted to be partnering with the Nairobi Convention Secretariat and many other actors in the WIO region in my current role.

I have a BSc in Environmental Science and MSc in Water Management.
