Mini-Symposium – Holistic water and marine management from source to sea

Our seas suffer serious degradation from land-based activities in basins and cities; only holistic water and marine management from source to sea can reverse that. It is necessary to mainstream source-to-sea systems thinking in governance and management with the aim of stimulating coordination among stakeholders for the design and implementation of actions for improved environmental flows and reduced marine litter pollution along rivers and coasts, and at sea.

Join this mini-symposium on Tuesday, 11 October 2022, at the 12th WIOMSA Symposium in  South Africa, for discussions on governance and its limitations in addressing the complex issues faced around the world including inadequate environmental flows and marine litter. Strengthen your understanding the necessity of harmonizing social, economic and environmental priorities across the continuum of land, freshwater, coastal and marine ecosystems in designing and implementing actions for improved environmental flows and reduced marine litter pollution along rivers, coasts, and seas.
