Regional workshop on cooperationin preparedness and responseto marine pollution incidentsforEastern Africa and the Western Indian Ocean

The workshop, organised under the framework of theNairobi Convention, brought together the keyauthorities and relevant agencies responsible for preparing and responding to marine pollution incidents. The workshop used a mix of technical presentations, information exchanges, network building and working groups to review previous work, the current status and options for enhancing regional cooperation in preparedness and response to marine pollution incidents for Eastern Africa and the Western Indian Ocean. The primary workshop output was a series of short-and medium-term recommendations for further actions.
