Launch of the Background Document on the State of Ocean Governance in the Western Indian Ocean Region

The objective of the meeting was to present and launch the background document on the State of Ocean Governance in the Western Indian Ocean (WIO) region and to discuss the utility of the background document within the framework of the respective Regional Economic Communities. The meeting highlighted that the purpose of the document was to inform the process of developing an Ocean Governance Strategy for the WIO region and served as a verified source of current information on Ocean Governance for the region and globally.
