Fourth SAPPHIRE Project Steering Committee and Focal Points Meeting - 01 March 2022

The fourth SAPPHIRE Project Steering Committee (PSC) meeting was held to:

i) Review the SAPPHIRE project progress and expenditure to date,

ii) Approve the project’s workplan and budget for 2022,

iii) Appraise the ongoing mid-term review,

iv) Review the progress in the development of the regional Ocean Governance Strategy, and

v) Discuss the SAPPHIRE – Western Indian Ocean Governance Initiative (WIOGI) Partnership on the Multi-Stakeholder Initiative (MSI).  The MSI is broader in coverage over and above the mandate and scope of the SAPPHIRE project, necessitating the participation of all SAPPHIRE stakeholders, including Nairobi Convention focal points.
