Ingela Isaksson

Worked with sustainable ecosystem based marine management for regional and national governmental agencies in Sweden since 2006. Coordinating transboundary collaboration and planning at different scales: from local to international. Priorities are creating and strengthening networks and collaborations contributing to a sustainable society. During 2012-2019, responsible for coordinating the regional development of one of three MSPs in Sweden. Since 2015, coordinated EU-funded marine spatial planning collaborations in the Baltic Sea Region on behalf of the Swedish Agency for Marine and Water Management. Has the honorable assignment as Global MSP expert to assist the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of UNESCO with the preparation of internationally guidance on Marine Spatial Planning/MSPglobal. Holds a PhD in marine zoology with focus on shallow coastal marine ecosystems, plant-animal interactions, eutrophication related issues and biodiversity.
