Houssoyni Housseni, born in Mohéli island from Comoros, holds a Master Degree in Development with specialization in Environment management from French speaker University (Université Senghor, Campus de Burkina-Faso);an Engineering Degree in Naturals resources protection and conservation (Ecosystems service, Ecology, marine sciences) from University of Applied Sciences and Technology, Tehran-Iran; and a Bachelor’s Degree in Earth Sciences and Environment (Geology, Ecology and Chemistry) from University of Comoros.

It's already been 9 years since I worked at Mohéli National Park. I hold the position of marine and coastal environment project manager for this protected area. I am responsible for the implementation of all marine activities in the protected area, in particular ecosystem management, management of fishery resources but also scientific monitoring of marine and coastal ecosystems and their associated species.

Located at the northern entrance to the Mozambique Channel, the Comoros archipelago has one of the most productive fishery industries in the Western Indian Ocean region. Yet illegal fishing has become a threat not just to the industry, but also to the ocean ecosystem itself.

Kamal Thabiti Soudjay is a citizen of Union of the Comoros and currently works as an Economist/Researcher at the General Directorate for Fisheries Resources, Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Environment and Lecturer at the Faculty of Sciences University of Comoros. He holds a Ph. D in Environmental Economics and Environmental Management from the Institute of Urban Environment, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences.
