Rural development and marine conservation with a particular focus on community-based approaches in Madagascar/SW Indian Ocean, European overseas (Mayotte and Reunion islands), and a bit of Central Africa.
My educational background is fisheries and Aquaculture with a Master's degree in Fisheries science. My expertise is fisheries and Aquaculture value chain, with working experience of over 12 years in fisheries and management, resource monitoring, and fisheries project management. My aquaculture expertise focuses more on marine fish species while fisheries management based on both inland water and marine fisheries.
I'm a master of science student and I work about Marine Sciences. Specificaly my field work is aplied oceanology.
Francis started his career working for the French Ministry of Environment, then the World Bank headquarters in Washington D.C. at the Environment Department before becoming a consultant. He has been working for more than 20 years in providing services related to the conservation and sustainable use of natural – terrestrial, coastal and marine – resources including international cooperation projects development, implementation and evaluation worldwide.
Worked with sustainable ecosystem based marine management for regional and national governmental agencies in Sweden since 2006. Coordinating transboundary collaboration and planning at different scales: from local to international. Priorities are creating and strengthening networks and collaborations contributing to a sustainable society. During 2012-2019, responsible for coordinating the regional development of one of three MSPs in Sweden.
He is an expert hydrologist and Environmentalist.
I am an early career researcher with a focus on the science-policy nexus of deep and open-ocean biodiversity governance.
Since 2007 I have been the manager and principle oceanographer at the South African Environmental Observation Network (SAEON) node for marine offshore systems. I conceived the node and have grown it to a thriving, internationally recognised diverse team of multi-disciplinary scientists, technicians, students and project managers.
I have been working in the field of Marine Water Quality and Estuarine Management for more than 30 years.

Márcia Marques holds a MSc in Marine Biodiversity and Conservation and is a PhD candidate on Ocean Sciences, Technology and Management, with a research grant funded by the Portuguese Science Foundation.
Márcia worked as a researcher on marine and environmental issues and in parallel co-coordinated the Portuguese Hub of the Atlantic Strategy´s Assistance Mechanism. She worked on several scientific projects and networks (CYTED Ecomar, Oceangov and Marcons COST Actions and Transatlantic MPAs).
