I have been working in the field of Marine Water Quality and Estuarine Management for more than 30 years.
My key areas of expertise include:
Rural development and marine conservation with a particular focus on community-based approaches in Madagascar/SW Indian Ocean, European overseas (Mayotte and Reunion islands), and a bit of Central Africa.
Design, management and delivery of marine projects within the Africa programme with FFI. Our work is taking place mainly via partnerships with local organisations and is centred on a set of community-centred approaches to empower locally-led management and conservation, and related relevant policies' engagement.
Previous professional experiences in development and CBNRM in the Western Indian Ocean region (Madagascar, european overseas territories, Comoros) and with humanitarian NGOs in Central Africa. Educational background on tropical agronomy and rural development.
He is the IUCN Regional Technical Coordinator (Interim). His roles include: Programme development, resource mobilisation, strategic planning and project implementation
Fisheries science
I am an environmental planner with knowledge of planning and executing coastal spaces for sustainability. I have a special interest in climate change and coastal cities especially sea level rise and its impacts, coastal systems design and coastal spatial planning.
