I have been involved in African fisheries for 33 years, first as a commercial fisherman, then as a Principal Oceanographer in a government institution in South Africa, for the last 23 years a member of Rhodes University, South Africa, and as Head of Department of Ichthyology and Fisheries Science between 2010 and 2020. I have experience in project procurement and in monitoring and evaluation, responsible for more than 90 projects in 201.
Worked as an intern at Kenya Marine fisheries and Research Institute Gazi substation for a period of three months.
Served as a treasurer for Nature club Karatina university for a period of two years.Voluntered at Mpala research center Rabies vaccination campaign for a period two years.Due to attending different trainings and mentorship programs ,I have gained knowledge concerning environmental cases and conservation practices.

Yves Jean Michel Mong is the current director of the National Center for Environmental Research (CNRE). He has worked in this research center since 1989, just one year after the creation of the center, where he had the privilege of working and enriching his professional experiences under the direction of the founder of the CNRE, Professor RAKOTOVAO Lala Henriette.
