Seventh WIOSAP Project Steering Committee Meeting - 29Jan2025

The WIOSAP Project Steering Committee (PSC) comprised National Focal Points, UNEP/DEPI GEF IW representatives, the Nairobi Convention, and donor organizations. It provided strategic guidance, reviewed annual work plans, and coordinated stakeholders. The PSC also monitored and evaluated the project, ensuring results informed performance improvement and accountability. As needed, WIO-C, COI, SADC, Task Force Chairs, private sector representatives, and civil society participated as observers.

Following UNEP’s Evaluation Policy, the UNEP Evaluation Office conducted a Terminal Evaluation of WIOSAP to assess accountability, learning, and operational improvements. An independent expert led the process, producing a Terminal Evaluation report. The Nairobi Convention convened the 7th PSC Meeting to review project progress, discuss sustainability, and finalize the evaluation report. Expected outcomes included strategic guidance for project closure, sustainability opportunities, and consolidated comments on the evaluation.
